Virtual Reality became a reality over a year ago for the high-end gamers when the Oculus Rift was released on the 28th of March 2016 with a $599 price tag. Shortly its largest competitor, the HTC Vive was also released costing $799. There are a lot of similarities and a lot of differences with these two devices.
Has this really made VR-experience a reality for the masses of gamers?
The short answer is no.
Not many gamers can justify the price yet for these devices and the other hardware requirements to enjoy games and entertainment. In about a year the two headsets combined only sold nearly over 663.000 units(source: CCS Insight).
Is there a more affordable way to VR entertainment and gaming?
Actually, there is. Samsung Gear VR, powered by Oculus Rift and Google Daydream VR powered by Google. Samsung Gear VR's first version was released on the 27th of November 2015 way before Oculus Rift or HTC Vive for $99. However, because the headset uses your high-end Samsung smartphone as the displa...
We are often approached by game reviewers seeking to review and writing an honest article about our games. Castaways VR does not differ in this regard, the folks from The Inner Circle Games Network have taken a look at our game and these are some of the parts they had to say about it.
" - Sometimes, less is more. It’s perfectly fine to try and have the player immersed among a virtual shoot-out with high stakes, but if you have too much crammed into a minimal control scheme, developers are bound to end up breaking the immersion. In contrast, having a game focused almost purely on observation could arguably work even better for VR. Castaways, an interesting little game released last month, benefits from playing around with this concept."
The limited control option on the Gear VR is not a minor issue. The touchpad takes quiet a while getting used to and even afterwards accidental inputs may occur. The older version of the Gear VR had a cross pattern touchpad with a central point. Today the...

The incredible Duel VR which was created in 2 weeks as an off side project is already published in the Ocolus store. There is not a lot of other games that can give you what The Duel is capable of. It's 1vs1 VR first person shooter which requires agile in-game movement if you wish to survive! The visuals were described as "stunning" and "awesome" by the users and other game developers.
The ratings shows the same feedback, it is currently standing at 4,6 a very high rating in all stores, especially in VR section. We hope that more and more people will find this game and enjoy what it can give.
We had our main event being the Budapest PlayIT show. We actually had a main rehearsal recently being a smaller PlayIT show in Pécs you can read about that here.
We are lucky we had that rehearsal I can tell you that for sure, we already fixed all the bits that went bad last time. We now had knew what to expect and how to properly demo our games for the players. The decision was made that we'd be only showcasing Virtual Reality games. Just shy of a month before the event Peter one of our programmer decided to create a 1 versus 1 VR fps multiplayer game. He worked tirelessly night and day to create this unique experience. But what is great programming without visuals and sound? Sanxia worked on the sounds and Anna our graphical artist worked on the project just as hard so there could be a working demo by the time of the show. You can read more about The Duel VR here.
The Duel VR is a futuristic cool looking multiplayer virtual reality first person shooter game. As the title suggests, two players enter the field and using agile manoeuvres, tactical gun charge and overheating handling, but only one gets to do the victory dance.
The laser battle is intense and you can even deflect incoming lasers by shooting them.
Other than 1v1 battle with a friend you can also play against an AI if you do not happen to have anyone else around with a Gear VR.
Our first user test will be at the PlayIT show in Budapest where we are expecting
tens of thousands of people to attend. They will be able to try the alpha version, we'll keep open ears for their ideas and feedback.
The TOP house in Göd takes care of over 220 mentally and physically disabled children and adults. For us it is important to help the ones in need, so we decided we'd go and make their environment better by painting and cleaning their rooms.
The idea of communal charity work quickly became a reality when we arrived on a Friday morning with everything we needed starting from paint all the way to a projector. We were shocked by the situation of the institution, it is really not something you see everyday. First I felt sorry for the people living there but after a couple of hours it was clear that they are happy there.
They watched us clean and paint the rooms and there was nothing else in their eyes but joy. It is not an everyday occasion that someone from outside visits them.
We started by plastering the imperfections on the wall and by cleaning the lamps. Then we painted a white surface so that the graphics could be painted later on a clean surface. After it dried with the help of...
